Former PM Mahinda's son reached Singapore, left the country even before his father's resignation

Former Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa's son Yoshita Rajapaksa has fled the country with his wife, leaving the people of Sri Lanka in the midst of a difficult emergency situation. Yoshita was the second most important person in his father's government. He was the Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister in the Rajapaksa government.


According to media reports, Yoshita and wife were spotted at the Singapore airport. Before joining politics, Yoshita had also been a lieutenant commander in the Sri Lankan Navy.


Mahinda Rajapakse also took refuge in the Naval Base


Former PM Mahinda Rajapaksa and his family have taken refuge at the Trincomalee Naval Base in eastern Sri Lanka. He was taken to the base by a helicopter. Common people are protesting outside this base. A large number of security forces are deployed here. So far 8 people have died in the violence, while more than 200 people have been injured.

Along with this, the opposition alleges that Mahinda Rajapaksa instigated the people who agitated peacefully. This made people violent. The opposition demands that Mahinda Rajapaksa be arrested immediately.
